Homework Assignment
updated 5/27/09
1) Try to use Excel for a project you have - something simple may be a personal budget -
create column for date, name of bill, amount
check formating and make changes as needed
total up your bills
using excel, make changes (like pay two months ahead on car insurance) so that you can see the total changing
create a pie chart that shows what percentage you are spending
*see tutorials above for extra help
2) Try to use Excel for a project at Upward Bound - something you may on your desk or something you have seen in a report you have gotten...
create columns for data
check formating and make changes as needed
use totals or basic formulas (like =4*$500)
create a chart
I will search for a "worksheet" that is more of a guide through these processes with screen shots of the steps, until then, try to play!
Feel free to email or call with questions...we'll plan on Excel Part 2 for another time :)
Thanks! It was a pleasure to work with all of you today Kathy
